Doug
Sanderson.

Memories from Colin
Thomas
Doug was a man of great talent who
understood
the complexities of Chinese coinage. He wrote extensively on the
subject and
was always willing to pass on knowledge to fellow collectors. At
various times,
Doug held the positions of President, Secretary and Treasurer of the
Branch. In
1990 Doug compiled a history of Windsor State High School representing
125
years of the schools existence, the book remains a valuable source of
historic
data. For his services to the A.N.S. he was awarded the silver medal
and he had
also been awarded the Paul Simon Award. One memorable quip from him:-‘
the
issue of silver coins is very nice but it is an expensive way of buying
silver’.
