QUEENSLAND SESQUI-CENTENARY 1859 – 2009
COMMEMORATIVE MEDAL

   

The Queensland Branch of the A.N.S. is producing a commemorative medal for the sequi-centenary of Queensland in 2009. These medals will be available soon.

The standard issue will be 38 mm diameter, bi-metal with aluminium outer and a copper inner for $12.00 plus $2.00 postage within Australia. Two metal combination varieties of the same medal will also be available for $20.00 ea plus postage. The bi-metal combinations will be an aluminium outer brass inner and copper outer and an aluminium inner.

The obverse design is the standard A.N.S. emu, grass tree and kangaroo, with AUSTRALAIN NUMISMATIC SOCIETY/QLD BRANCH around while the reverse has an effigy of a ‘young head’ Queen Victoria to the inner left and a map of Queensland behind her head and the dates 1859 below and 2009 to the right. The outer ring has QUEENSLAND SESQUICENTENARY. The medals will be struck by the Canning Mint.

THE AUSTRALIAN NUMISMATIC SOCIETY QUEENSLAND BRANCH 1962 – 2012 GOLDEN JUBILEE COMMEMORATIVE MEDAL

 

The Queensland Branch of The Australian Numismatic will celebrate its Golden Jubilee in 2012. The inaugural meeting was held in Brisbane in 1962. To commemorate this event, a 65 x 45 mm 6.5 mm thick rectangular, gold plated copper medal weighing 170 grams has been commissioned.

For Members wishing to have an example, orders and payment are required by the end of November 2007. The price of a medal is $50.00 plus $5.00 regular postage within Australia if applicable. Provision has been made for your name to be engraved on the reverse before it is gold plated. Please advise the name you wish engraved on the medal.

These medals will be stuck by the Canning Mint.
