There were 14 members and visitor Mrs Dorothy Peake were in attendance in The Resource Centre, Newstead House, Breakfast Creek Road, Newstead, Brisbane.

Meeting Topic: Annual General Meeting & Election of Branch Office Bearers; and Bridges.

Annual General Meeting & Election
B.B. delivered his President’s Report and thenretired. Patron L. McC. thanked Bernie for his term and the other members of the past Committee. He then presented Bernie with his engraved Past President’s
badge. Leo then acted as Chairman and called nominations for the position of Branch
President. M.W. was nominated and seconded and with no other nominations was duly elected.
Melvin took the chair and continued the election procedure with the following results.
Vice President – G.S.
Secretary –J.C.;
Treasurer – F.S.
There was a ballot for the other Committee positions resulting with D.W, C.T. and B.B being elected.
Leo has volunteered to continue as Patron, Col as Caterer, and George as Editor.

Talk :  North Coast resident H.P. gave a short talk on his efforts to
promote banknote collecting and the difficulties experienced. Harold then presented
the Branch with copies of all his various books and publications on this subject. These
will form part of the Branch Library. Thank you Harold!

C.T: Framed set of gilt, silver and bronze ANS Gateway Bridge medals; first day stamp
cover and scrap book with all relevant bridge information. Recent acquisitions: 1936-
7 German book on the life of Edward VIII.
B.B.: Bernie gave a talk general on the importance of bridges and their proliferation in the 1930’s. Displayed 1932 silver badge of Sydney Harbour Bridge by Prouds; Storey Bridge enamel badge.

auction have all now been sold.
